Hamilton Rd. Industrial
We overcame several obstacles when creating two warehouses for The Pizzuti Companies on this 44-acre site. Built-in response to industrial market sector growth and to meet the demand for direct-to-consumer products, master planning led to different approaches for each structure.
The first building spans 327,000 square feet and was designed as speculative. The site presented significant challenges within a floodplain and was highly visible from the road. Conscious of the client's desire for a positive relationship with the community, and with input from the development board and zoning commission, the project involved extensive design of a more visually appealing façade. The monolithic look of a standard industrial building simply wouldn't do.
The second warehouse spans 254,000 square feet (including more than 12,000 square feet of office space) and was designed from the ground up as a build-to-suit for distribution of Ontario-based manufacturer Startech.com's IT connectivity parts.
